For 19 years, 皇冠体育app of Flagstaff has participated in a charity event near and dear to their hearts, Climb to Conquer Cancer. With the next event slated for August 19^th, the team is lacing up their boots with a goal to outpace the competition when it comes to raising funds.

The Climb to Conquer Cancer is one of many activities associated with the American Cancer Society. The climb is designed to unite the community to honor cancer survivors, spread the word about reducing cancer risk, and to raise money to help the organization save lives. The hike takes place at , with two challenging routes ranging from 5.5 miles to 10 miles.

The brokerage walks every year in memory of Nedra Bell, an Executive who lost her battle to lung cancer in 1999.  Additionally, the team walks in memory of the many friends, family members, and peers who have lost their battles to various cancers.  鈥淏ut most importantly,鈥� says Debra McCormick, CFO of 皇冠体育app of Flagstaff, 鈥渨e walk as a tribute to those who have won their battles with cancer or are currently fighting.鈥�

In addition to forming a team and participating in Climb to Conquer Cancer, 皇冠体育app of Flagstaff has supported the fundraiser in multiple ways over the years, from sponsoring mile markers to working water stations.

鈥淓veryone has been touched by cancer in some way.  This hits our hearts, and we want to do everything we can to find a cure,鈥� said Wayne McCormick, Broker and Owner of 皇冠体育app of Flagstaff.  Wayne recently lost his friend of 52 years to pancreatic cancer.

In 2022, the team was the top fundraiser in Northern Arizona, raising nearly $11,000.  Additionally, they ranked as the Top Company, Top Team, and Top Individual fundraising categories. This year, they are on track to exceed their previous year鈥檚 efforts.

Charitable giving has continued to rise among Realtor associations, according to a new report from the National Association of Realtors. The  鈥� CARE 鈥� offers insight into the monetary and volunteer contributions of NAR members, broker-owners and association executives or multiple listing service staff.

• 66% of Realtors volunteered every month
• 77% of broker-owners volunteered every month, and
• Realtors are most likely to have volunteered with food delivery for the elderly or food banks to help with Covid-19, and nearly half volunteer the same as before the onset of the pandemic.

Knoxville Area Association of Realtors (KAAR) volunteers stuffed more than 300 backpacks with $15,000 worth of school supplies for East Tennessee students who receive assistance through 鈥� Backpack Heroes program. The money was raised in the KAAR鈥檚  golf tournament. KAAR has supported the Backpack Heroes initiative for the past 12 years and donated nearly $200,000 of supplies.

Realtors  cleared over 18,000 pounds of trash and debris from 36 miles of waterways across the state.

In Springfield, Missouri, Realtor Linda Brown and her husband, David, opened , a 31-unit tiny-home community offering permanent housing and support services to individuals formerly homeless. It has grown to two with a third planned for 2024.

Andrea Martone, a top New Jersey Realtor庐 and the owner of , has an unquenchable passion for real estate combined with compassion for her community… and both of those qualities are evident through her dedication to both her clients and community service.

Martone was raised in Parsippany, as was her partner, Paul Cristelli. She has called Rockaway home in the past, and currently resides in Denville. Martone began her real estate career 21 years ago and immediately began sponsoring charity events to promote her new business and expand her contacts. Her participation in Morris County events quickly led to invites to food drives, fundraisers for animal shelters, and more. She discovered that charity events were a great way to authentically connect with various members of the community and saying 鈥榥o鈥� was not an option.  The deep ties Martone developed with the community helped her become a true neighborhood expert and advocate.

“I believe that when you put out positive, positive things come back.  These communities have been so supportive of me, my family, and my business over the years; the communities trust us.  I want to do anything and everything I can to reciprocate that,” says Martone.

While Martone鈥檚 career has evolved over the years from agent to top producer to brokerage owner, her commitment to growing the community has not waivered. She is a longtime active member of the Elks Club in Parsippany, participating in the Ladies Auxiliary.  The auxiliary hosts fish fry dinners, garage sales, raffles, and social events to raise money for initiatives such as , a vacation away from home for children with special needs.

Recently, both Martone and Cristelli joined the Kiwanis Club of Denville. Their work with the club helps raise money for various children’s initiatives through awards dinners, pancake breakfasts, paper shreds, and more. They also participate in the Denville library鈥檚 trunk or treat, a safe and fun activity for local children.

But Martone and Cristelli cannot stop with one or two clubs when there are more communities to serve.  The team sponsors trick or treat trails in Boonton and Rockaway and volunteer in the Parsippany Food Truck Festival supporting Parsippany Kiwanis.  They participate in the Denville Fall Festival benefitting the fire department, and Parsippany鈥檚 trunk or treat. They have become the local go-to Realtors庐 when it comes to service, filling nearly all their non-business hours with events to benefit the neighborhoods they love. 鈥淲e have so much fun that time truly flies by at each of these outings.  We love catching up with everyone, seeing their kids grow, and having a great time together,鈥� says Martone.

The project nearest and dearest to Martone is the .  This Denville-based fundraiser occurs annually in October and supports breast cancer awareness. Deemed 鈥淣ew Jersey鈥檚 best girls鈥� night out for a great cause,鈥� this year’s event benefited a 29-year-old local woman with stage three breast cancer. Attendees don witch hats with pink ribbons to honor cancer survivors, current warriors, and family members.

Thousands of food items were donated to dozens of local food banks as a result.
