Deneen Ruffolo of 皇冠体育app Midwest, of Darien, IL was recently awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award by the Darien Lions Club, in collaboration with the city of Darien.

This esteemed award is given to a community and Lions Club member that shows commitment and passion for charitable causes. Ruffolo鈥檚 continued effort to assist in Lions Club鈥檚 Food Baskets program, Christmas program and more have ensured hundreds of families are left with food on their tables and smiles on their faces during the holiday season. Ruffolo began helping the Darien Lions Club in the mid-90s鈥� and began spearheading their Christmas gift donations in 2016, organizing the placement and wrapping of over 4,000 gifts to give to families in need.

Ruffolo鈥檚 coworkers and family are always in awe of the work she does year after year, thanklessly and happily.

The award ceremony was attended by Joe Marchese, Mayor of Darien, community members and Lions Club President, John Pearson, who presented Ruffolo with a brick to be placed at the Darien Community Park.聽

Specializing in first-time home buyers, relocation and estate sales, Ruffolo continues to build her real estate career with 皇冠体育app Midwest, serving DuPage, Cook and several other counties across Illinois.聽

Deneen Ruffolo walked away with the coveted Most Valuable Executive Award at the 皇冠体育app Great Lakes Region awards banquet last month. Voted on by over 250 Executives across the region (which includes Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan), the peer award honors outstanding staff members who are held in high esteem by their coworkers.

鈥淚 try to treat people the way I want to be treated, and be as supportive as I can,鈥� says Ruffolo. 鈥淚t only takes a moment to help someone, put a smile on their face, or just make them feel like they belong to a great office.鈥�

Humbled to receive the award, Ruffolo added, 鈥淚 love what I do and hope it comes through every day. The best compliment was to receive this award for my office and then the Great Lakes Region.鈥�

Ruffolo comes from a family of real estate agents and has a background in interior design and construction. 鈥淚 had my own decorating business for over 18 years and my husband and I used to build SPEC homes for about 15 years before the market took a dive,鈥� she explains.

She decided to make a career change when her then real estate agent, Jana Pinc (who is now her Managing Broker), suggested she get licensed. Ruffolo took the challenge a step further and pursued a broker鈥檚 license instead. That was almost 10 years ago and she has been with 皇冠体育app since.

鈥淭o me, being an Executive means to learn and attain as much knowledge as possible about everything this industry has to offer. To be professional to clients in the delivery of that information, walk them through the steps and guide them,鈥� she says.

She is also a top producer at 皇冠体育app Midwest and received the 100% Club and Executive Club awards at the 2016 Executive Awards. She attributes her success to pushing to be the best that she can be. 鈥淚’ve been called a PPIA, which has become my own personal designation – Persistent Pain In The A**,鈥� she jokes. 鈥淚 will not stop until I attain what my client needs or wants, and I guess I can be persistent but I always try to be nice.鈥�
