TRF went along to the awards on Friday 27th April with the intention of capturing a 'few little clips' of our awards show videos in use.. However we got whipped up in the excitement of the night and ended up filming the entire event! :-) The footage has now been edited together into a short video that gives you an overview of the night.

We were very impressed with the event management team and how everything looked on the night and felt proud that we could contribute to the success of the evening by providing all of the video content used on the night.
Congratulations to all of the well deserved winners, hopefully the video will inspire other local businesses to enter the awards next time round and continue the heritage of Business Excellence in Pendle.

The 2012 Pendle Business Awards were held at the Ace Centre in Nelson on Friday 27th April 2012. The Reverb Factory were commissioned to produce all of the video and graphic content for the night.
We invited each of the directors from each of the award category sponsors into the studio and carried out individual interviews. These were then edited together into short introduction videos that were then played on the night to all of the invited guests and nominated business representatives.

We also produced all of the Nominees & Winners videos to a standard that retained the high quality production value. This ensured the night flowed well and that the audience were suitably engaged and informed about both the sponsors businesses as well as details about the winning companies as well.
The feedback we received on the night was that it was a resounding success and both guests and clients alike commented on how slick and professional the whole night had been.
The event was organised by Pennine Events and the whole production team did an excellent job on the night.

The Reverb Factory take part in The Prince's Trust work experience scheme: |

The Prince's Trust helps young people gain the confidence and skills they need to get a job. One of the ways they help young people is through its 12-week Team programme. It gives unemployed 16-25 year olds the chance to develop their skills and confidence through practical community projects and work experience.
When we got the call from the local Prince's Trust work experience team we agreed to help by taking on a seventeen year old young man called Joshua Whitehead.
He had expressed an interest in media production and already had a good grounding on the use of Adobe software and wanted to gain experience in a production environment. We took him through various animation techniques and worked on his key-framing skills.

The Reverb Factory produce a new promotional website for Barnoldswick: |

It's been a busy couple of months spent designing and coding the new promotional website for Barnoldswick. www.visitbarnoldswick.co.uk At the heart of the website is a sophisticated database that allows users to directly add their own content and promote their information in a the best way possible.
We implemented an intuitive calendar and search filter that allows users to quickly pinpoint the information they require. Users are free to click on any category heading and the website will filter the information for them.
Valentine's Day 'Bake-off' & website launch 14th Feb 2012 |
The new Visit Barnoldswick website was launched in style at a 'Love Barnoldswick' event held on Valentine's Day.
Hundreds of people visited a bake off - where Barnoldswick's bakers vied with each other in a display of devotion to the town. Elaborate cakes and cupcakes, bouquets of flowers and even a decorated tyre were judged by visitors using a 'loveometer'.
The winning professional display was by Bev Martin of Cupolicious, who created a bouquet of red roses with cupcakes.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and made the day such an enjoyable celebration.
An enthusiastic countdown heralded the launch of the website itself. A day after the website went live, thousands of visitors have visited the site and scores of Barnoldswick listings have been added.
Visit Barnoldswick has now been viewed around the world in virtually every time zone!

We received a call at 8am on Sunday 2nd October to enquire if we were available to capture and produce a short video on the demolition of the Fernbank Mill Chimney in Barnoldswick. Knowing a good story when we see one, we agreed and scrambled our gear together and headed down to the mill as it was due to be felled at 1pm the same day.
The resulting ten minute video features exclusive interviews with those involved and footage of the chimney’s final moments with the creaks and groans of the chimney’s death throes providing an eerie sound track.
The felling of the chimney marked the end of 98 years of local history and was witnessed by many local people who turned up to watch the day unfold. The entire video was edited and handed to the client to present to the public within 2 days of being filmed. It went on to be screened in high definition during a Newsreel prior to each of the main feature films at the local cinema.

Centre Screen Cinema's new promotional trailer. |
We decided to have some fun with this one by creating a tongue-in-cheek, Harry Potter themed advert for our local community cinema www.centrescreencinema.co.uk
The short clip will play before every film that is shown at the cinema and stars three local trainee wizards! :) We spent an enjoyable hour filming it and then went on to create all of the special fx in Adobe After Effects. (castles in the background, mountains, rain, wand spells, fire and explosions)
Well done to the three wizards who took part!
We will have more information soon on an upcoming film making workshop where you will be able to help produce and star in your own mini movie!

Barnoldswick in Bloom! featuring children from two local schools. |
TRF were recently commissioned by the local town council to produce a short 5 minute video on Barnoldswick's entry into the Britain in Bloom competition.
Using a collection of stills as well as footage filmed on location we brought it all together into a 'cartoon style' presentation.
Children from two of the local schools were also drafted in to help celebrate the success of Barnoldswick in Bloom!
UPDATE: The 'Barnoldswick in Bloom' video is featured on the Royal Horticultural Society website.

As part of their personal training & development a group of Apprentices from Rolls-Royce Barnoldswick hosted a Community Project day based on the theme of Science & Technology.
Local schools were invited to attend and take part in a range of practical activities throughout the day.
The Reverb Factory went along to record and document the days events, which proved to be a very enjoyable and informative experience for all the children who took part.
To ensure we remained in the background and didn't get in the way, we recorded the entire day with only one camera operator, who managed to successfully capture all of the days events.

TRF produce Interactive Educational DVD for Lancashire Constabulary & Young People's Service: |

Following on from the success of the short film 'Missed Opportunity', The Reverb Factory Ltd were recommissioned by Lancashire Constabulary & YPS to turn the film into an interactive, educational DVD. This would be used as a training resource in Schools and Youth Centers throughout the North West.

Containing over 3 hours of content, the DVD includes the original 20 minute short film along with interviews from several local/regional organisations who support young people on the issues raised in the film. The issues include Racism, Domestic Violence, Knife Crime, Alcohol Abuse, Anti-Social Behaviour and Cyber Bullying.
The completed disk pushes the DVD specification to its limits, containing 8.4GB of video content, sophisticated motion menus and 99 chapter playlists. We designed the menu and navigation system to ensure that the flow of information is presented to the user in an engaging, accessible and interactive way. Each of the six issues are given their own sub-menu which contains information specific to each issue.

From this menu you can automatically go back and review the relevant section of the film, watch interviews with young people who answered questions about each of the subjects, or watch the interviews with support agencies for that issue.
All of the video content was filmed in High Definition and created in-house, here at The Reverb Factory, from designing and animating all of the custom motion menus, to filming and editing all of the content.
We also worked closely with the Young People's Service and a group of young people who helped design, film and structure the DVD content, through a series of structured workshops held in the TRF studio.

The young people involved in the project gained various production skills and experience and found the whole experience to have been a challenging yet rewarding one.
The completed DVD is a very powerful collection of information, on subjects that are difficult to discuss, yet is presented in such a way that the message comes across in an engaging and productive way.
