June 1, 2024, was a momentous day for The Energized Team of �ʹ��app Premiere. New office doors proudly opened on the corner of 3^rd Street and Campbell in Geneva, Illinois- a symbol of the team’s expansion plan coming to fruition.

“Our team had significant success in expanding business into the Fox Valley area, frequently earning listings in Geneva, Batavia, St. Charles, and surrounding areas,” said Becky VanderVeen, Team Lead and Owner of The Energized Team, Inc. “Having a physical presence in the community was our natural next step and will allow us to further develop our market expertise and best serve our clientele.”

For years, The Energized Team has focused on enhancing the client experience by providing comprehensive, seamless service and building trust and long-term relationships in the competitive Illinois real estate market. Their team members’ mix of diverse skills, expertise, and resources have exponentially increased their reach and success- now allowing them to expand into Fox Valley- an opportunity they are excited to capitalize on, especially with the team’s desire to grow the business.

Forming the Business

The Energized Team, Inc. formed in April 1999 when top producer Karen Pokorney sold her real estate business to area top producer Becky Chase VanderVeen. Both women were working under the guidance and leadership provided by Broker/Owner Pat Callan of �ʹ��app Premiere in Wheaton, Illinois.

Pokorney began her real estate career in the Illinois market in 1993. By 1994, her high-energy, spirit, and passion for real estate earned her the moniker of “The Energized Realtor.” Five years later, with plans to relocate to Arizona looming, Pokorney began looking for a professional to take over the business. She found a kindred spirit in VanderVeen.

“I knew that my real estate business in Illinois could continue to thrive by partnering with an entrepreneur who shared my energy, passion, and work ethic,” said Pokorney. “Becky fit the mold, and I was confident that transferring the business to her would result in my clients continuing to receive top-notch service while scaling toward a bigger, stronger business in the future.”

The Team Evolution

Pokorney’s relocation to Phoenix, Arizona, sparked the first evolution of The Energized Team. At that time, the team’s ownership transitioned to VanderVeen and team member Diane Lynch.

In 2006, VanderVeen and Lynch welcomed a new licensee, Eric Logan. Logan’s role began as an advertising and marketing partner, but his commitment to real estate quickly helped him achieve top producer status. It became clear that Logan was a great culture fit and was crucial to the team’s future growth and expansion. Logan became a team owner and business partner with VanderVeen in 2014.

Cultivating Community: �ʹ��app Associates Downtown Grows

�ʹ��app Associates has opened a downtown office that captures the edgy energy of Knoxville’s center city.

Realtors Emily Stevens and Bailey Rose are the founders/owners of �ʹ��app Downtown, located at 323 Union Ave. Both are eager to connect with the downtown community.

“We’ve got three huge windows, said Stevens. “We’re going to showcase an artist each month and on First Friday, we’ll host an open house with the artist.” In September, for instance, they collaborated with the Knoxville History Center to display photos of Knoxville then and now.

Rose and Stevens use the space as a hybrid office for a business they own with Emilie Stooksbury – New2Knox.com and Moving2Knox.com.

“We love Knoxville and we want to help others love our city,” said Rose. “We do not say to new home buyers, ‘Here’s your key; bye.’ We want to help new homeowners make friends and find their way around the city.”

Their REA website separates listings by area and highlights the special nature of each neighborhood. “Whether you’re moving across the country or across the county, we can’t wait to help you fall more in love with this sweet Scruffy City – starting with a beautiful place to call home,” said Stevens.

�ʹ��app Downtown is a “powered brand” offered by REA. Experienced brokers operate their agency under the REA umbrella and gain the benefits of the national brand. “I love it,” said Rose. “They create so much community among powered brand owners.”

“When I first met with Bailey and Emily, it quickly became apparent there was a cultural match with �ʹ��app and their philosophy of caring for agents well,” said Justin Bailey, chief executive officer of REA.

“We have been looking at different parts of town to ensure our agents are equipped to service clients in each specific neighborhood. In that effort, we have always felt we were missing a presence downtown. Our agents were doing plenty of business there but we hadn’t figured out a way to provide them brick and mortar. When Emily and Bailey approached us, it was almost prophetic that they wanted to open a downtown location. The timing, mixed with how well they fit our culture, was just ideal.”

The women understand being new to Knoxville. Bailey Rose moved here from Texas in 2019. Emily Stevens came to attend UT and never left. Emilie Stooksbury moved to Knoxville in 2014.

Since opening the downtown office in February 2022, REA Downtown has added four agents and is looking to add another 4-6 by year’s end, said Rose. Those new agents can live anywhere, by the way.

“I really believe in them,” said Justin Bailey. “I think their hearts are in a great place with their desire to be servant leaders in the community.”

�ʹ��app MidAmerica Region, �ʹ��app Premiere, and �ʹ��app of St. Louis have announced the future opening of an innovative collaborative service center in . This business center, boasting conference space, training facilities, and closing offices, will be operated by two independently owned and operated brokerages in the region. This one-of-a-kind hub is symbolic of the brand’s unity in Missouri and its commitment to expanding its real estate footprint throughout the state.

The brokerages participating in this co-op concept include �ʹ��app of St. Louis and �ʹ��app Premiere. The businesses plan to collectively leverage the regional location for growth and retention in the coming years. The office is available for any �ʹ��app agent to use, effectively expanding the service areas for the existing Missouri network.

Bowman was born and raised in Dalton and feels a strong connection to the community. Before venturing into the real estate industry, she worked in several different areas including carpet mill work and office administration. Despite living in the “,” Bowman found those types of jobs confining.

Bowman had dreamed of being a realtor since she was about six years old. “Every Thursday evening, my mom and I would go grocery shopping. While she was shopping, I would be sitting under the shopping cart looking through the real estate magazines that were then available outside most grocery stores,” Bowman said. “There was one particular agent I was fascinated with- she always had lots of listings in the magazine. �ʹ��app Elite All Stars is led by Broker/Owner William Cering, a . Cering joined the mortgage industry in 1997 after graduating from San Jose State University. Cering advanced quickly in the finance sector, accepting larger roles as the Vice President of Hilltop Financial Mortgage and later Regional Director for Genworth. His experience at Hilltop, which at the time had 2000 employees- 500 who were licensed agents- encouraged him to step into real estate. Over time, Cering earned his broker license and successfully operated an independent, 15 agent brokerage. He is currently a Regional Director with Lincoln Financial.

Cering is eager to start this next chapter in his career and found �ʹ��app to be the perfect combination of resources, systems, and flexibility while considering his franchise options.

Doris and Armando Sanchez, Broker/Owners of �ʹ��app of Eagle Pass and Del Rio, have announced the opening of a new brokerage in the San Antonio, Texas market.

The San Antonio brokerage, �ʹ��app Nexus, will be the third brokerage the Sanchez Salinas and Associates, LLC group has opened under the �ʹ��app brand. Nexus will serve the Northwest communities of San Antonio and surrounding areas. The brokerage expansion marks a success for the broker/owners and international franchisor, as they have renewed focus on growth in Texas in the year ahead.
